Ms. Kalyssa Matheson
Starting therapy is a meaningful step, and it deserves a space where you feel understood, respected, and thoughtfully supported. I offer a calm, focused therapeutic environment where care is individualized and the work is approached with depth, intention, and collaboration.
I work with children, teens, and adults who are navigating life transitions, anxiety, relationship challenges, emotional regulation concerns, and unresolved trauma. My therapeutic style is direct yet gentle — integrating warmth, clinical structure, and honest dialogue to support meaningful and lasting change.
With children, I incorporate play-based therapeutic approaches that allow emotions and experiences to be expressed and processed in developmentally appropriate ways. Play therapy offers a safe, natural medium for communication and healing, with thoughtful parent involvement throughout the process.
Our work together is structured and collaborative. Sessions are paced with care — combining reflection, skill development, and practical strategies — while allowing room for curiosity, humour, and moments of lightness when appropriate. I aim to balance supportive presence with thoughtful challenge, helping clients deepen self-understanding and strengthen relational and emotional patterns.
I value authenticity, discretion, and trust in the therapeutic relationship. Therapy with me is engaged and human — grounded in evidence-informed practice and tailored to your unique goals and circumstances.
